The Story So Far

I’ve just returned from India, where – thanks to people like you who successfully backed Vegetarianism: The Story So Far – I have been able to conduct interviews with experts and gather material at the places where the story unfolded. You can read my project updates – from the bureaucracy around recording at historical sites to tracking down experts – at Kickstarter.com.

Kickstarting History: 77% reached, 7 days left

I’m humbled by the support for the Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund Vegetarianism: The Story So Far. With just seven days left, it’s 77% funded. It’s nearly there – but if it doesn’t hit the target, it does not get funded. Please go to the Kickstarter page to discover some amazing rewards. It’s also being heavily featured in other vegan blogs and podcasts – from Go Vegan with Bob Linden to the Jewish Vegetarian Society. So please have a look at the Kickstarter video, read more about the project and help make history. Or, as Tanya from Progressive Kitch podcast puts it: know your roots.… more

Kickstart the Radio History of Vegetarianism

Researching the history of vegetarianism, I quickly realised it was a much bigger and more exciting story than could fit into a couple of episodes. It needs a full on series, of at least ten episodes, full of interesting characters and amazing twists. To tell it properly is a much bigger project than The Vegan Option has ever done before. I can’t do it without you. So, for the first time, I’m offering you the chance to get financially involved by backing Vegetarianism: The Story So Far on Kickstarter. I’m offering some great thank you gifts – such as a postcard from one of the places where the story unfolded. Go to the project page to discover more, watch the video (with a glimpse of what the Vegan Option “studio” actually looks like), and help make history. If this is funded, it will be a resource for vegetarians, vegans, and curious omnivores for many years. So it would be a pity if it wasn’t.
